TaeKwonDo and Fitness Arts is a training Dojang (studio) for World Taekwondo Federation style and Chung Do Kwan style TaeKwonDo. Additionally, this program focuses on physical exercise sciences and nutrition to enhance the health and well-being of participants.
Instruction is with Master Daniel Fusco and ranking students. Classes include cardio-vascular (CV) warm-ups, light stretching, kicking and striking drills, fighting training, forms training, and new material instruction. Reservations for free trial classes are always available upon request.
TaeKwonDo and Fitness Arts Instruction Philosophy:
The philosophy of TaeKwonDo and Fitness Arts is that martial arts training is for the purpose of self-preservation in all aspects. This would include physical protection, health, mental and spiritual survival. Additionally, developing a positive pro-active approach to living life, setting and achieving short-term and long-term personal goals is paramount. The objective is to become positive and productive members of our communities. In like manner, students learn to build strong relationships with others and help make the world a better place.
TaeKwonDo and Fitness Arts Style:
The TaeKwonDo and Fitness Arts style and training is fundamentally based on traditional roots. There is a direct lineage through Chung Do Kwan TaeKwonDo (one of the original schools of Korean TKD). Instructors are members of Chung Do Kwan Schools, founded by Grand Master Dong Hoon Kim. Testing and training protocol is under G.M. Kim’s auspices.
Although style and training is traditional, additional emphasis is placed on modern-day sport (Olympic style) TKD for the purpose of competition. Correspondingly, students are well prepared to enter into collegiate programs as leaders and participants. By the same token, students are trained intensively for street-style self-defense, learning to strike hard to disable threats. Other training techniques are derived from comparative styles such as boxing, wrestling, hapkido, jujitsu, weapons defense, and others. Conclusively, our students develop a well-balanced ability to succeed in life.
More Than a Sport:
Master Fusco holds strong views that participants of any sport must first physically prepare their bodies for the sport. There is a vast difference between conditioning for a sport and health and fitness. The latter involves intelligent exercise training of the body to establish muscular-skeletal balance. Good nutrition, which will enhance the body’s ability to grow and heal itself is taught and encouraged. Equally important are the psychology benefits which instill confidence, positive attitude, and high self-esteem. This approach is a distinguishable aspect of the TaeKwonDo and Fitness Arts program.
In addition to Kukkiwon TaeKwonDo Master’s certification, Master Fusco holds NCCA accreditation as an exercise trainer, sports and fitness nutrition specialist, and orthopedic exercise specialist. Certifications in exercise sciences are through the American Council on Exercise. Master Fusco (BIO) is also a forty-year veteran of the piano industry and respected business owner in Central New York State.
